Aston Desktop Shell Skin - TC1100
My older skin for regular laptop: [link]
-----

This was a UI design/skin for a tabletPC I used about a year ago.

Its design is for use without a keyboard and mouse - just a tablet pen.

WindowsXP Tablet Edition allows the user to change from landscape to portrait mode - so having the taskbar at the bottom of the screen makes it a little tough to design a seamless interface. (the "Switch Mode" button here demo's the interface in Landscape or Portrait modes)

Program menus and such are now right below the taskbar - not only that, also below the volume controls, too. It now groups all OS based actions to the upper part of the screen, leaving the lower part of the screen dedicated to the program I work in. (Screen space becomes important when working with a pen on screen, I found.) Also lowers the use of excessive mouse/hand/arm movements around the UI.

Being a person who rests their wrist on the surface of what they draw/write on, having the taskbar at the top means I can rest my hand on the screen. Minor, but important, when working on projects as large/long as the ones I do - every bit counts.

But just because it counts, doesn't mean I completely disregard trying out nifty animations here n there.

-------------------
Hence this is done in flash to demo the interactivity and animations of this skin. Here is a list of things that can be interacted with. (Mouse-over/click)

- Gems on the left
- Drops of water on the rings to the bottom and right
- "Start" button on the top left
- Digital squares on the top left corner near the start button, and one next to the volume controls (right below the taskbar)

Take care, be safe

Gorgeous desktop man. It's very cool to see what people come up with when they put their minds to it.
